Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 RPG!

Yes, I am making another RPG in which you get to be a Pokemon. However, this one is different, of course. It is obviously loosely based on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, as it involves exploration teams and takes place in a guild much like Wigglytuff's. For those of you who haven't played PMD2, here is a basic overview of the guild:

The guild is a place where aspiring explorers train to become full fledged exploration team members. Each apprentice lives in the guild, and trains using two different notice boards. One of them has basic jobs such as escort missions, finding items, and rescuing Pokemon. The other board is for catching outlaws. This is all you really need to know, since the RPG will not be strictly based on the game.

Here are the rules, which are basically the rules from the other RPG except with a few changes:

Rules:

1. You may control someone else's character if you have to, but only to a certain extent. Don't make their character do anything that they would normally not do.
2. Don't godmod.
3. Your post has to at least be a few sentences. A bunch of posts with no substance will get us nowhere.
4. You may use only one character of your own.
5. No legendaries.
6. Before you begin, you must post a character profile, in the same format as the one I'm about to post.
7. You may include other made up characters to help with your story. However, you can't make profiles for them, or show what they are thinking, or anything. Your story is supposed to only be from the viewpoint of your main character.
8. Make sure you know exactly what's going on in the story before you post. Don't screw it up...
9. Your characters may just be solo explorers, or can be members of exploration teams. Your exploration team may include up to four members. Since you only have one character of your own, you may form teams with other people's characters.
10. We are Pokemon in the RPG, not humans that have turned into Pokemon. Making each one of us a human that became a Pokemon would be too much of a hassle.
11. Moves don't matter in this RPG. Just use any more that your character is capable of using.

Before we start the RPG, we need to figure out what Pokemon we should use for the Guildmaster and his or her assistant. We also need to figure out four Pokemon to already be members of the guild. These Pokemon will be under the control of all of us. I will come up with one, and the next three posters can introduce their own.

I will now post two profiles. One for my character, and a guild member. Just like in PMD2, the members already in the guild are just named according to their species, instead of having an original name. The profiles for the main characters and for the guild members will be slightly different.

Guild Member:

Species: Hoothoot
Gender: Female
Personality: Hoothoot has been a member of the guild for a long time, and usually acts skeptical around "rookies." She is actually very kind-hearted, and acts like a big sister to the new members. She can be rather bossy, but she generally has good intentions. She often serves the role of the guild's look-out.

Name: Scarlet
Species: Cyndaquil
Gender: Female
Appearance: Typical Cyndaquil but with a long scruff of fur on her forehead
Personality: She is a very innocent and cheerful Pokemon, with a thirst for adventure and a fascination with history. She is rather emotional.
Past: Scarlet was raised by her very loving and caring parents in a local volcano. They had always noticed how Scarlet would always ask many questions and daydream about other places and the past. She had noticed the guild whenever she went to visit Treasure Town, and couldn't wait until she was old enough to join it. When she became a teenager, she decided it was time to leave home and become an explorer.

Guild Person:
Species: Gible
Personality: Gible is a head-strong, arrogant, dragon pokemon. Despite being fairly new himself, he acts as if he owns the place and takes missions far too hard for himself so usually they can go undone for a bit.

Name: William
Species: Mudkip
Genger: Male
Appearance: regular mudkipz
Personality: William's a rather eccentric pokemon, who will travel anywhere in the world. He try to be nice to everyone when he can.
Past: William was interested in seeing the world and collecting rare items from all over. He liked the powers and mysteries they contained. He decided he would try to join the guild after he got his aqua globe stolen by a group of theives...his first true treasure find.

Guild Member:

Species: Lairon
Gender: male
Personality: Though very silent, Lairon is a very kind-hearted guild member. He is willing to help a hand to those that treat him nicely back, and will follow any order the guild masters give him.

Name: Kayne
Species: Murkrow
Gender: Male
Appearance: A normal murkrow
Personality: He's very shy and will stutter his words, and not much of a fighter, but more used to hiding.
Past: As a child he was always picked on so he resorted to hiding from his bullies. With his hiding abilities Kayne is very good at sneaking around, hiding, and is usually not found by any of the bullies. He had many thoughs of joining a guild and when he became of age he decided to join the guild, to be a stronger person.

So, do we get to start it now? *chipper*

We need at least one more member...

Scarlet was in a hurry.

She had slept in, and the tearful goodbye between she, her parents, and her siblings had been way too drawn out. It was an emotional experience for her as well, but she knew that she had no chance in getting in the guild if she was too late.

"All right, guild members!"

The guild masters, Gardevoir and Gallade, stood majestically over the current recruits. The guild masters had taken over after Wigglytuff and Chatot retired, and the guild had been remodeled since then. However, now that the world was no longer in the turmoil it was in before, nobody was interested in the guild anymore...except for these few

"We're pleased to announce that we will be having our first expedition soon!" Gardevoir said cheerfully.

"An...expedition?" asked Lairon.

"What for?" demanded Gible gruffly.

Gallade waved a blade-like arm. "Let us finish, please. There is word around town that legendary Pokemon are being seen much more frequently lately. These Pokemon...their personalities and habits have completely changed."

Hoothoot cocked his head. "How could that happen? Nothing like that has happened before, even during Wigglytuff's time."

"That's what we're going to try and figure out," said Gardevoir. "I've been trying to do so with my psychic abilities but...everything having to do with these legendaries is blocked. It's like some mental barrier..."

"So, the only way we can find out what's going on is to go investigate ourselves," said Gallade.

"What exactly do you mean by their personalities and habits changing?" asked Hoothoot.

"Their powers and demeanors have been...in some cases reversed, but in other cases, just slightly changed," said Gardevoir. "For example, Uxie doesn't seem to know anything anymore. Dialga and Palkia still can control space and time effectively, but they don't seem to care as much about their job now. It seems as if the more powerful the legendary is, the less they have changed."

"So, we are going to investigate some more before we go off on the expedition. For now, do what you normally do. Dismissed!" commanded Gallade.

Scarlet ran as fast as her stubby little legs could carry her. When ehe finally got to the guild, ehe was exhausted. She looked up, and saw a Hoothoot standing on the roof. When the Hoothoot spotted her, she flew down and landed right in front of Scarlet, staring at her intently.

"Uh...hello..." Scarlet said nervously.

"Welcome, visitor. What brings you here?" Hoothoot asked in a friendly, but sharp voice.

"I'm here to...to join the guild..."

Hoothoot tried her best to hide her surprise. "I see. Well, come in. Let's see if you have what it takes."

Scarlet followed Hoothoot into the building, her heart pounding wildly.

Hoothoot finally stopped when she arrived at a door with an image of a Gallade above it. "Guildmaster Gallade! We have a wannabe rookie here to see you!"

"Hmm...come in."

"Good luck," said Hoothoot, before flying off.

Trembling, Scarlet opened the door, and slowly walked in.

"Welcome. Take a seat," said Gallade cooly.

Scarlet climbed into the chair in front of Gallade's desk, and waited for her next words.

"This is a rare sight. There hasn't been a new member since Gible, and that was months ago. So what's your name, and what makes you want to join us?"

Scarlet gathered her thoughts, and then answered. "I'm Scarlet. I've...always wanted to be an explorer, sir. I've been wanting to join your guild since I was a young child. I'd work hard for you, sir!"

Gallade chuckled. "I like that kind of spirit. Well, that's all we needed to know. Now, you know how the guild works, right?"

Scarlet nodded. "I've read about Wigglytuff's guild a lot, and I heard this one works the same way."

"Good, good. I guess that's that. Next door is my wife, Gardevoir's office. She'll give you your starting kit."

"Thank you very much, sir!"

Scarlet, relieved, entered the other door, not nearly as nervous as before. As soon as she entered, Gardevoir smiled at her.

"Welcome, Scarletl! I already have your exploration kit ready. My husband let me know you were coming using telepathy. Since today's guild activities have already started, your first assignment will be tomorrow."

Scarlet was astonished.

Gardevoir kept smiling. "Your room is down the hall to the right. You'll know which one's yours." She winked.

Dazed, Cyndaquil went down the hallway. The first thing she noticed was that some of the doors had images of Pokemon above them, one of which being Hoothoot. Above the last door to the right, sure enough, an image of a Cyndaquil was visible. Even more astonished by now, Scarlet entered her room, passing out on the comfortable bed right away.

"Hahahaha, you won't be needing that anymore." Cackled a shadowy figure as it plucked a blue orb from Will's grasp. "Thanks for the prize." the figure said and turned and walked off.........the image faded.....

Will woke from his most recurring dream...the dream-that-was-not-a-dream where those feraligator stole his aqua orb. They stole his first and only real treasure.

But no more.

Will hopped out of the small clove he was sleeping in and grabbed the apples he found the day before. Being a wandering traveler was a great, fun time, but now it was time to do this.

Will gulped. It was time to look for advice, train, help those who have shared in his poor fate, and hopefully get revenge on the thieves. Time to join the guild headed by the gallade and gardevoir.

Soon Will was in the small pokemon town. It had grown larger in the past many years, but it was still the same. "HELLO WILL!!!" shouted the kecleon twins in unison. "FOUND ANYMORE OF THOSE GOLDEN APPLES!?"

"Haha, none today. It's not like they grow on trees." Will grinned at his own bad pun. Will headed on down the path past all the usual places and finally came to the fork in the road that lead up to the guild. After the short climb, it wasn't as bad as the few times he'd been on Mt. Bristle, he got to the top and saw the guild.

A small hoothoot was perched on the top and flew down, "What are you doing here today, visitor?"

"Haha, I was actually trying to see if I could join the guild, I probably should ha-" Will started.

"ANOTHER who wishes to join the guild?" Replied the Hoothoot hotly. "Is this some joke or do yo-"

"Oh quiet hoothoot." came a deep rumbling voice. "It's probably just luck." a Lairon stuck his head out of the guild doorway. "I'll take it from here, you just keep your rounds Hoothoot."

Will shuffled in quietly after the Lairon and followed him down the hall, "Umm...thanks Lairon, but what was that all about, it's not like I'm trying to cause trouble."

"Don't worry about him, hoothoot has been here a while and besides not liking change, there hasn't been a new member in ages. But, just luck." Lairon fell silent after that.

The two reached a large door at the other end of guild. "Guildmaster" rumbled Lairon's voice. "We seem to have another potential recruit"

"Another?" answered a voice with surprise. "Very well, come on in."

Will waved to Lairon but he was already walking off. Will then opened the door and slipped into the office. There was a small chair across from a desk that the gallade was sitting behind which Will promptly slipped into.

Gallade stared at Will for a couple of minutes before finally speaking, "Well, this is odd indead...two new recruits and almost simultaneously...If I may, it's odd enough one joined us already. So may we have your name and why you'd like to join?"

"Yes, I'm Will, I've actually been thinking about joining for a bit and, more importantly, I'd like to join to explore unknown areas, find mysteries, and take down thieves and criminals alike!" Will said, his excitement increasing all the while.

Gallade mused for a moment and laughed, "Ahh, lots of enthusiasm, we need some more of that around here. So I take it then you know all the rules?"

"Erm...pretty much yeah, I'm won't let you down." Will stated.

"Very well, that'll be all. In the next door over will be Gardevoir, she'll have a travel bag ready for you."

"Err...yeah...umm..." started Will, "I already have a travel bag, I made it out of this really weird seaweed I found in the sea, I'm pretty fond of it and it's better than most bags I've used before."

Gallade suddenly sat up straight in his chair and stared at Will intently.

"I-i-it's not that I-I don't want your help, the s-s-supplies I want and n-need." Will stuttered out.

"You know, what you've been doing was dangerous, not getting any help." Gallade shook his head. "You're that random traveler aren't you? The one who finds those golden apples the Kecleon brothers go on and on about. It'd probably have been SAFER for you to join sooner. BUt..." Gallade grinned, "It's nice to have someone who has a bit of experience under his belt, but that doesn't mean you're going to succeed at every mission you try, exploring and rescuing are very different."

"T-thanks." Will laughed sheepishly as he quickly left the room and walked over to Gardevoir's room.

"Hello, Will. Gallade already told me of your...deeds. Very dangerous indeed." Gardevoir clucked. "Well here are your items, they'll be very helpful where ever you go. Seeing as it's late, there won't be any jobs for you today, but you can start tomorrow. Your room will be on the left, it'll be easy to find." Gardevoir smiled warmly.

"Thank you miss." Will ducked his head and slipped out of the room. After walking down the hall, he found a room with his picture hanging on it and a Cyndaquil's across the hall. "I knew psychics could talk to each other with their mind, but jeez this is faster than teleportation..." Will shook his head as he murmered.

After entering the room he saw a bed, the first bed he'll have slept in in a loooong time. "it's nice to be here." Will grinned as he started unpacking his random items from his bag.

Scarlet's eyes flickered open. At first, she was confused, waking up in an unfamiliar place. The confusion quickly cleared, however, when she recalled the events of the previous day. She sat up and began to look around, really seeing her room for the first time. Her walls were a deep red, and decorated with images of volcanic environments. The floor was a dark gray tile. The images along with a small lava lamp in the corner of the room made it feel like home to her.
When Scarlet open the door, she noticed that the room across from her had an image of a Mudkip on it.

Was a Mudkip there before?

Scarlet shrugged and started down the hallway. Not paying attention to where she was going, she ran into Hoothoot.

"Hey! Watch where you're...! Oh, good morning Scarletl," Hoothoot sighed, exasperated. "Sorry for that little outburst. I'm surprised you're up already. Normally, rookies sleep in far too late..."

Scarlet scratched her head, embarrassed. "Uh, sorry for running into you. I guess I'm up so early because I went to sleep before everyone else."

Hoothoot blinked at Scarlet. "Ah, you didn't have a job yesterday, did you? Well, you won't get off so easily today," she chuckled.

Scarlet stared at Hoothoot, not knowing what to say.

"Ah, well, you'll find out soon enough. By the way, have you met that new rookie yet? He has the room across from yours."

"Um, no...I was wondering about that actually..."

Hoothoot shook her head. "I still can't believe we got two more roo- I mean, members...in such a short time. Well, why don't you go introduce yourself? You newbies need to stick together. Given how tough our training is..." she trailed off.

"Uh...I-I guess I'll do that, then," Scarlet stammered.

"Good. Now, I'm going to the mess hall for breakfast. Don't take too long, the guildmasters will call for our morning meeting in twenty seven minutes and twelve seconds." Hoothoot flew off, leaving Scarlet stunned.

Scarlet shuffled back to the Mudkip's room and knocked on the door.

Thud, thud, thud...echoed the doorway.
Someone came for me!? Oh crap! Will thought and looked around the room. The small dirt room had been a bit too dry for Will's liking so he dug and filled a large section with water.
"Just a second!" Will blurted out as he kicked up a small lip of dirt to keep the water in place. Once he was satisfied as much as he could in the short time he went to the door.

Will opened the door and saw a Cyndaquil. "Yes? May I help you? I was...uhh...fixing something, sorry for the delay."

"Uh..." Scarlet trailed off. "Hi..I noticed that you just joined. I'm new here too; I joined yesterday. I was thinking since we're both new, it might be a good idea to help each other out. I'm Scarlet. What do you call yourself?"

"I...err...am Will. Nice to meet you." Will got out. "So, if we're working together, I guess I'll let you know one thing about me that needs to be known. I'm not entirely....used to being with other pokemon so often, so if I do something rude, or wander off, sorry!" Will nodded his head quickly. "Anyway, are we supposed to see Gallade, or Gardevoir, or maybe a veteran explorer for our job?"

"Uh...I'm not sure," said Scarlet. "I guess we should just go to breakfast, and the guildmasters will probably tell us after the morning meeting."

They went into the mess hall, where there was one long table with several empty seats. Scarlet stopped at the first seat she approached, but Gible happened to be sitting on the seat next to it. He snarled at Scarlet, and Scarlet quickly backed off.

"Cut it out!" Hoothoot shrieked at him. "Come on you two, sit between me and Lairon. Don't pay any attention to him."

"Ok, thanks Hoothoot...." Will nodded quickly, slipping into his spot. The pile of berries and foods before him looked great...delicious...alluring...and before Will knew it, he was pigging out at his pile.

Lairon then jabbed Will in the side. "We're not supposed to eat until the guildmasters give the morning objectives. Calm yourself."

Will looked around embarrased and said, "Erm....sorry bout that. I'm used to just eating when and where I get food..." he laughed embarrasedly. "So, when shall Gardevior and Gallade get here?"

Hoothoot piped up, "They should be here any minute, they always arrive a little late so everyone else is all here first..."

Will jabbed Raphael repeatedly with his fork, and shouted "Hurry up already pleaaaase!"

(I'm going to go ahead and post in this, even though it probably won't do any good.)

That moment, Gardevoir and Gallade entered the room, and all eyes were on them. They silently took their seats.

"Now," started Gallade, "I'm not sure if you all have introduced yourselves to our new members. If you haven't, here they are. Say hello to Scarlet and Will, everyone!"

The members all mumbled their greetings.

"Now, let's eat!"

The members gratefully began pigging out, especially Scarlet and Will. Before they all knew it, all the food was gone. After breakfast, it was time for the morning meeting. Everyone headed out to the lobby.
